Makes GIFs that follow Slack's recommended size, frame rate, color and length for emoji (128x128) and message GIFs (480x480), with animation tips and tools to assemble and validate them. Built on Python and Pillow. Official Anthropic skill.

Generates or edits images: photos, illustrations, textures, game sprites, product mockups and transparent assets. A built-in Codex system skill using the image_gen tool, no install needed; with approval it can use a bundled CLI script that needs OPENAI_API_KEY. By OpenAI.

Classic open-source OCR engine and CLI that reads text from images and outputs plain text, hOCR, searchable PDF or TSV. Supports 100+ languages; install the language data for each language you need.

Removes image backgrounds with one command: single images, whole folders or watched directories, mask-only output and switchable models like U2Net and SAM. Can also run as an HTTP server or process video frames with FFmpeg. Default models run locally.

SVG optimizer CLI and Node.js library: shrinks SVGs by removing editor metadata, comments, hidden elements and redundant attributes, processes whole directories recursively, and gives fine control through plugin config.

ML-based video upscaling and frame interpolation using Real-ESRGAN, Real-CUGAN, RIFE and other models to upscale old low-res video or raise frame rates; video2x handles one video per run and is scriptable. Needs a Vulkan GPU; Windows, Linux and Docker builds, no native macOS.

Veteran image processing CLI suite that converts, resizes, crops, composites and batch-processes JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, PDF and many more formats, handy for agents handling images in scripts.

Fast, memory-efficient image processing library with a vips CLI for batch resizing, cropping, rotating, format conversion (WebP, AVIF, HEIC, TIFF and more) and thumbnails, handling very large images smoothly. Good for design and media teams processing assets in bulk. Install with Homebrew on macOS.

Batch-translates text in manga, posters and screenshots with one command: detects text, runs OCR, erases the original and typesets the translation back into the image. Japanese-focused, with 20+ languages supported. Install from source (Python 3.10+); offline models, DeepL or LLM APIs.

Lightweight OCR built on PaddleOCR models converted to ONNX, recognizing Chinese and English by default on CPU alone. The rapidocr CLI reads text from screenshots, photos and scanned page images. Needs Python; downloads models on first run, then works offline. Convert PDFs to images first.

Removes backgrounds from images and videos with one AI command: batch whole folders, use a portrait model, refine edges or swap in a solid color, and output transparent MOV or composite video onto a new background. Runs locally; install PyTorch and ffmpeg first. Models download on first run.

Adobe's official Codex plugin, listed in OpenAI's plugin marketplace: batch-edit and retouch photos by chat, build social graphics from Express templates, reformat landscape video into vertical shorts and search Creative Cloud assets. Try it as a guest; sign in for more features.

Converts raster images like JPG and PNG to SVG, handling color tracing, black-and-white line art and unevenly lit scans, for vectorizing logos, illustrations and old drawings. The CLI is a 1.0 preview installed with cargo (needs Rust); a desktop app is also available.

Lossy PNG compression CLI: converts images to 8-bit PNGs that keep transparency, usually 60-80% smaller, with batch processing and a quality range setting. Handy for slimming down web assets, slides and article images. Install via Homebrew on macOS; no account.

High-quality GIF encoder built on pngquant: turns video frames or PNG sequences into animations, using cross-frame palettes and temporal dithering for thousands of colors per frame. Can take video piped straight from ffmpeg.

Detects shot changes in video and splits long footage into scenes, exporting cut lists and per-scene thumbnails, useful for shot analysis, organizing footage and finding edit points. Runs locally; needs Python 3.10+, plus FFmpeg or mkvmerge for splitting.

Classic CLI for reading and writing metadata in hundreds of file types including images, video, audio and PDF, covering EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP and camera makers' proprietary tags, with batch editing, stripping and conversion. Requires Perl.

Multithreaded lossless PNG optimizer that shrinks screenshots, slices and icons in bulk without quality loss and strips unneeded metadata, handy for design handoff or compressing images before a site launch. Install with Homebrew on macOS.

High-fidelity SVG rendering library and CLI that exports SVG icons and illustrations to PNG at chosen sizes, good for batch asset export. No system dependencies, with pixel-identical output across platforms. No SVG animation support; install with cargo or grab a macOS build from Releases.

MCP server from the opengeos GeoAI project: segment buildings, roads and vegetation in satellite imagery from text prompts, detect vehicles and ships, spot changes between images, estimate canopy height and fetch NAIP, Sentinel-2 and Landsat imagery. Install from the repo (Python 3.10+).

Runs open image models like FLUX, Qwen Image and Z-Image locally on a Mac: text-to-image, reference-based edits, inpainting and upscaling, all on-device. Needs Apple Silicon and uv; the first run downloads models and is slow. Check each model's license before commercial use.

Google's official Gemini CLI extension with a built-in MCP server: Nano Banana image generation and editing, photo restoration, icons, textures, step-by-step storyboards and diagrams. Needs Node.js and a Gemini API key; for Claude Code or Codex, clone and build the repo first.

Lets agents work in Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects through UXP/CEP plugins and a local proxy: edit layers, lay out pages and cut timelines. A proof of concept, not made by Adobe; install from source.

Lets agents drive a local Photoshop: remove backgrounds, retouch portraits, color grade, batch-watermark, and export or split carousels at social media sizes; multi-step edits undo in one step. Needs Photoshop and Node.js 18+. Unofficial; sends anonymous telemetry by default (opt-out).
